I did not get hungry during the night and I slept well. It was nice not feeling so bloated during the night. today I feel a little bit more tired before lunch and I was told that I looked pale. My left eye has gotten blood shot around the outerside of the eye which represents the colon so I must be causing some stirring of the dormant toxins. I did take a nap in the afternoon and right before dinner I had a slight fever which is the bodies way of getting rid of toxins. The fever has past but I don't think it will be my last. All the students from level one have gone off to see an organic miso manufacturing plant and then they are going to have some Chinese food. I have decide to stay at the Kushi Institute and continue with my fast. I didn't want to be tempted at the restaurant to eat other foods. The fast is a little tougher today than yesterday. It is not that I am hungry I just feel a little tired and yucky. I am happy that I had today off so if this did happen I could just relax and not push my body. Tomorrow I do have to work lunch so I don't have a double shift until Friday. One of the intersting things is that I am not terribly constipated which I would have thought with just eating rice, but I guess it is cleaning up all the junk in my colon.
In one of the classes today we learned about the terrible effects of sugar on the body. One of the books that they recommend for us to read is called "Sugar Blues" by William Duffy. One of the points that stood out for me was sugar burns up all your B vitamins and the brain needs it's B's and if it doesn't get it their thining is scattered or they get a foggy brain. One othe volunteers here went home for the weekend and then when she got back she said she felt foggy and out of it. The chef told her she must have eaten chocolate while she was gone and she whispered in my ear how does he know I ate chocolate. She was like a kid who got caught sneaking a cookie out of the cookie jar.
